Dec. 25 – While I wish I could deliver a nice Christmas present for everyone, today’s update is more of a black coal. Read the Holiday World review below to see what I mean. Raven and Legend are both done and sitting on my hard drive as final drafts, but I didn’t get enough photos of either myself so am waiting on a friend who kindly agreed to let me use some of his to send them my way. Hopefully that’ll be before the end of the weekend. Voyage will be a bit later, but only by a couple more days. Check back January 1st as well since I’ve got a few special things planned to ring in the new year.

Dec. 16 – Quick update, I finally got through the bulk of my exams today, which provided the opportunity to do some quick write-ups of two more 2009 movies, the Fantastic Mr. Fox and Thirst. Expect to see some Holiday World content within the next week or two, I’ll have plenty of time over Christmas break to get caught up.

Update: Also added a review for Avatar.

Dec. 05 – First of all I want to thank Screamscape for honoring me with a link on their Kings Island page. The amount of readers I’ve had over the past 24 hours has been nearly ten-fold the total number of readers I’ve had since I started the site several months ago. (If you’re looking for the Kings Island material, check the update below.) Actually it’s a weird feeling knowing that people will actually be reading whatever I’m writing because before I could write whatever off-the-wall crap I wanted and it’d be okay because I knew the only people that would ever read it would be myself and whatever friends I linked it to, plus some random Google traffic. Now I’ve actually got some responsibilities to myself and the rest of society to not appear completely delusional.

Unfortunately, today’s update may prove just that, as not only is the coaster that I spend a good deal of time analyzing (and give a positive rating!) an SLC, but I also spend parts of the article writing only in adverbs.

Nov. 29 – Finally, finally, finally the Beast is done and uploaded! I’ve only been talking about it for every single update since I started this site, haven’t I? Hopefully the results will have been worth it, and I’m quite sure the content in there is of interest to both fans and skeptics of the ride. To read it, click on the banner to the right. No time to rest however, got a bunch of stuff from Holiday World and Cedar Point I need to do next. That’s not all, I’ve also got some movie reviews to share from the two I mentioned below. Find them under the “Irregulars” tab.

Edit: Here’s the link for the Diamondback Analysis. More Kings Island reviews can be found here.

Nov. 27 – Just experimenting with a new homepage look. Good news is I finally finished writing the Beast over this Thanksgiving holiday (although that doesn’t speak about the editing process yet). Better news is I think it’ll be uploaded by this Sunday. Best news is, it looks like a 100% sure thing that I will be able to review the Italian parks for 2010 (including Mirabilandia), while Spain and the United Kingdom are sitting at about 75% chance of likelihood. Hope everyone out there had a nice Turkey day (assuming you are reading this from the States). Tomorrow I’ve got a double-bill movie screening of The Road and Antichrist, which is probably the most cheerful and optimistic movie combo I could possibly see over the holiday weekend. Depending on how I feel I might finally start putting some movie review content under the “Irregulars” tab, although honestly between preparing for next semester abroad and trying desperately to get caught up with old review material from the past year or two (The Beast only took what, four months to write?) I wouldn’t count on it.

Click to readNov. 06 – Part three, the Classic Steel & Wood at Six Flags Great America, is now done. Reviews of Whizzer, Demon, Viper and American Eagle. Fairly straightforward as far as reviews go (each were fairly straightforward coasters) although I must say that Whizzer is a true gem of a ride, and I do perhaps have a surprise pick for my favorite coaster in the park.

My next update will be Beast. When? Who knows…

Nov. 02 – The second of three parts on Six Flags Great America, the B&M Quartet, is now online. Here I ran into the dilemma of each of them being very good rides, although none of them were outstanding; in fact, it would be hard for me to pick a favorite out of the four.

Part 3 and the Beast coming next.

Click to readOct. 25 – Visiting Kings Island, Kennywood and Cedar Point next weekend. Very much looking forward to Phantom Fright Nights, and six hours of dark should offer plenty of opportunities for Beast night riding, and then I’ll hopefully finally get Beast done. For now, how about Six Flags Great America? (at least the first of three parts…) Not much if anything in terms of analysis, but I had a few observations about the park, which as far as corporate parks go I found to be potentially one of the more pleasant in the nation.

Oct. 18 – Uhhh… so somehow Beast still isn’t done. Since I’m looking at a Friday night visit to KI on the 30th, I might as well hold off until I have more ‘field research’ under my belt. In the meantime, notice the new headers at the top? Also, check out the new NoLimits tab, lots of stuff to download there (provided you have NoLimits). Not much under the other new tabs, yet.

Oct. 03 – Was working on the Beast, had writers block, and ended up finishing a Steel Hawg analysis from last year instead. So still no Beast but Steel Hawg is quite cool. Click on the banner below to read! Plus there’s a NoLimits re-creation available for you to download at the very end. Neat stuff! Thanks for reading.Click to read
